On April 11, at 3:00 PM, the vibrant grounds of the Sylhet National Sports Complex came alive with the inauguration of the Regional SME Product Fair 2026. The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony, marking the beginning of a promising platform for entrepreneurs across the region.

The fair was officially inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Commerce, Industry, Jute and Textiles of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, whose presence added great significance to the occasion.

This impactful initiative is organized by the SME Foundation, with the overall management led by the Sylhet District Administration, ensuring a well-structured and professionally executed event.

Representing the Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI) at the event,  the Vice President Aleya Ferdouse Tuly, along with Directors Mrs. Shama Haque Chowdhury, Sayma Sultana Chowdhury, Zakira Fatema Limi Chowdhury, Rehana Afrose Khan, Asmaul Hasna Khan, Gazi Zinath Afza and Tahmina Hasan Chowdhury were present at that Grand event. In addition, several SWCCI members were present at the fair, with many actively participating as exhibitors—an encouraging sign of growing women-led enterprise in the region.

This fair is more than just a marketplace, it's a space where ideas connect, opportunities emerge and entrepreneurs find the confidence to present their work to a broader audience. For many emerging women entrepreneurs, this could be the beginning of a new journey toward growth and recognition.
