An inspiring journey has begun in Companiganj, Sylhet - another strong step forward toward women’s skills development, creativity and self-reliance.

Organized by SME Foundation in collaboration with Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI), a five-day training program titled “Design and Quality Improvement of Bamboo and Cane Products” commenced at 10 April and will continue through 14 April.

The training program was inaugurated by Mr. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation and Ms. Farzana Khan, Deputy Managing Director. The key objective of this initiative is to transform traditional bamboo and cane crafts into sustainable and income-generating enterprises through modern design innovation and quality enhancement.

Around 30 enthusiastic women entrepreneurs are participating in this training, each carrying dreams, determination and a strong desire to learn and grow. Beyond technical skills, the program will focus on modern design thinking, product quality improvement techniques and practical knowledge for developing market-oriented products.

This training is not only about learning new skills - it is about women rediscovering their potential, gaining confidence, and taking their entrepreneurial dreams one step further.

We believe women’s skills are a powerful force for economic progress, and we remain committed to nurturing that strength. We are proud to be part of this inspiring journey.
