Paying Tribute at the Central Shaheed Minar: SWCCI Honors the Language Martyrs
On 21 February 2026, marking Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, the Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI) placed a wreath at the Central Shaheed Minar in Sylhet to pay tribute to the language martyrs.
Led by its President, Ms. Lubana Yesmin Shampa, the Chamber’s Directors and general members offered their profound respect in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the recognition of the Bengali language.
Our mother tongue, Bangla, is not merely a medium of communication; it is our identity, our dignity, and the foundation of our independent spirit. The sacrifices of 1952 taught us how powerful a united voice can be in pursuing rightful demands.
Respect to all language martyrs.
May the Bengali language remain eternally vibrant in our consciousness, our actions, and in the dreams of future generations.
