An interactive discussion titled “Strengthening Nepal–Bangladesh Economic Partnership” was held at 11th April, Saturday evening in Sylhet, organized by the Embassy of Nepal.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Lalita Silwal, Deputy Chief of Mission, highlighted various dimensions of the growing economic engagement between Nepal and Bangladesh and shed light on significant progress in trade, connectivity, energy and tourism. She also emphasized the important role of Sylhet’s business community, particularly in expanding trade and tourism linkages and encouraged participants to explore emerging opportunities in Nepal and build meaningful partnerships with Nepali counterparts. During the interactive session, she responded to questions and concerns raised by participants.

In addition, Ms. Yojana Bamjan, First Secretary, delivered a presentation focusing on key areas of economic cooperation between the two countries and underscored the potential for deeper bilateral collaboration.

Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mr. Md. Sarwoer Alam also addressed the event, emphasizing the importance of connectivity in strengthening trade and commercial relations between Nepal and Bangladesh.

Representing Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SWCCI) at the event were Vice President Aleya Ferdouse Tuly, along with the Directors Shama Haque Chowdhury, Sayma Sultana Chowdhury, Zakira Fatema Limi Chowdhury, Rehana Faruk Shirin, Asmaul Hasna Khan, Gazi Zinath Afza, Shahana Chowdhury and Tahmina Hasan Chowdhury.

The event also brought together some of the members from the business community, travel and tourism entrepreneurs and media professionals to create a valuable platform for dialogue, networking, and exploring new opportunities for regional cooperation.
