Government is supporting women entrepreneurs: District Commissioner

Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet. Mujibur Rahman said, at first, it was thought that women would work only in handicrafts, some cottages and small industries on a very small scale. But gradually that idea has changed. Women have come forward with great initiatives. Women entrepreneurs are also participating in government procurement, although the number is not high but it is increasing day by day. Currently, the government has announced various incentives to promote women entrepreneurs, the opportunities of which can be taken only by women entrepreneurs. There are several financing schemes for women.


He also said that the overall development of the country is not possible without the development of women. That is why the current government is working on the economic, social and political empowerment of women to realize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.


He said the above while speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of training on natural dyeing on October 8-12 organized by Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry and in collaboration with Small and Medium Industries Foundation on Wednesday (October 12). appreciated


Under the chairmanship of Sylhet Women Chamber of Commerce President Swarnlata Roy and moderated by Kaits Masood, the women affairs officer of Sylhet Women's Department Shahina Akhter, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank Shamima Nargis spoke as special guests.


Among others present were Trainer Naima Islam, Chamber Director Beauty Burman, Rabeya Akhtar Rhea, Nasreen Begum, Chamber Member Salsabila Kanta, Nilufar Yasmin Neela, IT Officer Meenakshi Pal, Assistant IT Officer Shatabdi Roy Rhea and others.


30 women entrepreneurs were trained in natural dyeing training and certificated at the end of the training.
